Cario Dismissal

This is a reminder of dismissal procedures for Cario Middle School.  Any child that is being picked up by a car is considered a car rider.  These students are to be picked up near the gymnasium using the car rider line.  Students that are bus riders are released by bus number in two lines and report to the front of the school and get on their bus immediately.  After the first line of buses, we announce the second line of bus riders.

*  Walkers are being released after all buses are released.  Our priority is the safety of the children and we plan to avoid any possibility for an accident.  Once the buses are released, we will release walkers to ensure there is less amount of motorized vehicles located near the children walking home.

We have been more efficient releasing 1,400 students within 15 minutes.  Thank you for following these procedures as we prioritize the safety of your children.

Cario Literacy Leader Tip of the Month
Individuals reading within their Lexile ranges (100L below to 50L above their Lexile reader measures) are likely to comprehend approximately 75 percent of the text when reading independently. This “targeted reading”rate is the point at which a reader will comprehend enough to understand the text but will also face some reading challenge. The result is growth in reading ability and a rewarding reading experience.
Wando Activity Bus Starts Monday, October 8th

If your child is involved in a Wando athletic team or athletic workout, please have your child see Ms. Johnson in the main office to sign-up for this shuttle and get a laminated pass.  Students are responsible to have this pass in order to get on the shuttle bus.  Please share with your children that this is a privilege that can be taken away if they behave inappropriately.  Thank you for your patience, and thank you to Durham for working with Cario Middle School.
