Career Development

Career exploration is an integral aspect of middle school. The South Carolina Department of Education has established 16 Career Clusters. Starting in the 6th grade, all students will have their own accounts on the Naviance website. Naviance is a website for student to research careers, take interest inventories, and much, much more. Student's individual log-in and password is determined by their first and last name, and their student ID number. The formula for the username is: the first 3 letters of their last name, the first 3 letters of their first name and the last 4 digits of their student ID number (Example: Trosco1234). The password is their full student ID number (Example 260010011234). If you or your student don't know their student ID number, please feel free to contact Cario Middle School. We encourage all students to be using their Naviance accounts to research careers. School Counselors at Cario Middle School are tasked with having the students complete certain tasks on their accounts, and the task(s) will be dependent on their grade level. For example, students in the 8th grade complete the Career Cluster Finder Assessment. The Naviance website is: www.connection.naviance.com/tccms
